No Coffee Pumpkin Spice Drink Recipe!

I am a big pumpkin lover. That might even be an understatement, but one thing I'm not is a coffee drinker. This is my perfect recipe if you want a cozy fall drink sans caffeine. I've been loving having this drink before bed while I relax, my substitute for the tea I'd usually be drinking.

This is a super simple recipe and only requires five ingredients.
You'll need : milk, cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin puree, and sugar.

In a saucepan over medium heat combine:
3/4 to 1 cup of milk (depending on how large your mug is)
2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree
1/4 of a teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla
1 tablespoon of sugar
Make sure you stir it frequently and keep it on the heat until everything is mixed into a smooth consistency.

I topped my drink off with whipped cream, a little bit of caramel, and a dash of cinnamon, but you can leave it plain of add any toppings you prefer.

I hoped you enjoyed this post, and I hope you enjoy the drink if you try it out!

Thank You

Favorite Fall Nail Colors!

Fall's coming up in a matter of days and I for one am getting super excited. The leaves are changing and the evenings are getting darker and colder making my nights oh so cozy while I cuddle up in blankets with my favorite candles burning. That aside I wanted to share my favorite fall nail colors with you. If I'm to be honest I'm really lazy when it comes to my nails, but when I'm wearing nail polish it's one of my favorite beauty products. I've got six colors in total that I hope will give you some Autumn inspiration.

‘Crushed Berries’ by Covergirl
I spoke a little bit about this in my Color of the Season post, but this is definitely high up on my favorite fall nail polish list. You can’t go wrong with a berry color in the fall it’s a must. It’s one of those polishes that when it chips you want to reapply it instead of starting fresh with a new color.

‘After School Boy Blazer’ by Essie
Who doesn’t love navy in the fall? Navy is such a classic fall color and the opaqueness of this one is phenomenal.

‘Grey’ by BarryM
Okay I know what your first thought is, that is the most boring name I’ve ever heard. You’re right. That is the most boring name for the most fantastic color. Okay so maybe it is just grey, not to fantastic, but Fall needs neutrals, and this here is my favorite neutral.

‘Am I Making Myself Claire?’ by Nicole by OPI
I love the subtleness of this color. It’s a great color when you don’t want your nails to scream “I HAVE NAIL POLISH ON ME”. You never have to worry about it looking off with that outfit you’ve been wanting to wear that just does not work with your bold nail polish color.

‘Forever Yummy’ by Essie
I wouldn’t always categorize red as a Fall color, but red is such a classic nail color you have to include one every season. This one I find is best for fall because it’s a slightly darker cranberry type red.

‘Impulsive’ by Revlon
This may be a more classic all year round color, but I personally find myself using it most in the Fall. I don’t know what it is about this color that makes me think of Fall but it always seems to.

That's all for my current fall nail polish obsessions. I'm sure I'll find more later in the season and I'll be sure to update you on those!

Thanks

Color of the Season : Berry

Autumn is just around the corner and although I'll miss the hot weather terribly I'm excited for the fashion and beauty trends that come along with the autumn season. Berry is one of my all time favorite colors when it comes to fall, you can still be colorful even if you're entering the dreary weather. It's a color that's easy to use in your makeup and in your fashion making it an absolute staple color for autumn. I thought I'd share with you my favorite berry colored items to give you some inspiration of how to incorporate this color into your everyday.

This here is my favorite berry lipstick for fall. I wrote a blogpost about this about a week ago when I purchased it and in a week I already know it's going to be worn a ton. As you can see with one swipe it's already extremely pigmented. I think these Maybelline lipsticks really have a great formula and they last a good amount of time on your lips.

'Crushed Berries by Covergirl' my all time must have nail polish in the fall. I bought this last year when my nail polish collection was lacking on fall colors and I wore it religiously. If you haven't tried the outlast stay brilliant line from Covergirl you need to. This is one of my favorite nail polish formulas and it doesn't require a top coat.

We all know that bright colors on our lips can be scary at times especially when at school or work. That is exactly why I like this lip crayon. It's in the color 'Jam Twist' and it gives the perfect flush of berry to your lips without feeling uncomfortable. These lip crayons aren't long wearing, but they're so easy to throw in your bag and reapply that I don't worry about it.

If you check out my Back to School Outfit Ideas post to see how I incorporated this color into my fashion. I hope you liked this post and you got some inspiration for the fall!

Thanks

Clean & Clear Advantage 3 in 1 Cleanser

I wanted to share with you my thoughts on a product I picked up recently. I normally wouldn't do a review on a face wash, except this is so fantastic I had to share it with you. Recently my face has been breaking out like crazy, it's gone ballistic. I needed to try a new face wash because what I had was doing nothing to help. This has 5% benzyl peroxide which I was hoping would help my face clean up. I've noticed a difference within the first use. Now I'm not saying this is a miracle product, it's not, but it has made a difference in my face and it continues to do so. My face feels so clean and it doesn't dry it out which I've found most face washes with acne fighting properties do. I hate the fact that several people think that in order to get a well working product you have to pay the price. In some cases this is true, but something such as this can work just as well. I believe this was around eight dollars which is a great deal. If you're looking for a good acne fighting face wash this is definitly one to check out.

New Beauty Buys #1

I picked up a couple new items from the drugstore yesterday and thought I'd share them you. I think this a great way to share new products without saving them up for a haul. I wore both of these briefly today, but not quite enough to give a full review.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in 'Blissful Berry'

I wanted a deeper lip color going into the fall so I decided to pick up this one. I really like this color because it's not too purple, which I don't think looks too great on me. It's the perfect combination between purple and magenta, and a great pop of color in the fall. This retails for between 5 and 6 dollars, which I think is reasonably affordable for a lipstick.

Rimmel Scandeleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 'Nude'

I've been wanting to purchase a nude eyeliner for awhile. Every time I go to the drugstore I either forget to pick one up, or I can't find one. I'm excited to try this out and see if I can replace black eyeliner in my waterline for this nude liner.

Hopefully you enjoyed this post. I'm going to make this a new series so I'm able to share my new buys.

Skincare Routine 2014

I was thinking of posts to write and thought it'd be helpful to share all the skincare products I use with you, so that you can discover something that works for you.

The first thing I use which I didn't photograph would be a makeup wipe to remove my makeup. My favorite kind would be the 'Neutrogena Deep Clean Wipes' just because feel it does the best to remove everything and also clean out your skin. The next thing I would do after removing my makeup would be to wash my face. I have a different cleanser I use for morning than I do for night so I thought I'd share both of them. In the morning I like to use my 'Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Hydrating Cleanser' this wakes me up and gets my face nice and clean to start off my day. At night I use my 'Vichy Tri-Activ Mask'. I talked about this in my June Favorites so you can look there for more information, but basically it's great to use as a mask or a face wash to rid yourself of acne without the effects of dry skin. Next morning or night I will use my 'Simple Soothing Facial Toner' on a cotton round to deep clean the dirt from my

skin and help to even out my complexion. Next I go in with my moisturizer. I switch back and forth between two moisturizers depending on whether my skin is more or oily at the current time. When my skin is dry I will use my 'Neutrogena Naturals Moisturizer' to bring back full moisture to my skin. If my skin is more on the oily side my 'Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer' is a great alternative. Despite it's name I do use morning and night, even more so in the night ironically. After that because my eye area is so dry I go in with my 'Clinique Anti-Gravity Eye Cream' to moisturize my eyes. I love this stuff and  honestly don't know how I survived before using this cream because it just allows my eyes to be perfectly moisturized but not greasy and I love it. The last product in my skincare routine would be my 'Clean & Clear Persa-Gel-5' acne treatment. This has benzyl peroxide in it which works great for my skin. I just apply this to any blemishes and any places I feel blemishes starting to form.

I hope you found this helpful. Please feel free to leave a comment telling me some of your skincare essentials!

Thank you lots,

-K

DIY Notebook For Back to School!

I love making these notebooks because they're super cute, customizable and easy. I'm personally making mine for back to school, but these are perfect for whatever other use you might need them for. I find notebooks super handy to have around to write down ideas, thoughts, or to do lists throughout the day. I love this DIY because you'll probably have all the supplies needed in your house already. I've been making these for years and they've never failed me!

Here are the supplies you'll need : A notebook of your choice, a blank piece of paper, your own personal design or collage printed out on card stock, clear packing tape, mod podge (or any liquid glue), a paintbrush, and a pair of scissors (I forgot them in the photo).

Step One : Coat the back of your collage or design with your glue. This does not have to be precise since we're going to be taping it on, just make sure you get the edges so it stays in place. What you want to put on the front is totally customizable to your style, but I suggest printing it out on card stock because it will be a lot sturdier and more durable.

Step Two : After you have your collage glued to the front of your notebook you're going to begin withe the tape. The easiest way I find to do this is to tape the clear packing tape above the notebook on the surface you're working on. After that pull the tape down and smooth it over the notebook. Cut the tape with about an inch hanging down from the notebook.

Step Three : Fold the excess tape over the edge to the back of the notebook.

Step Four : Repeat this process over the entire notebook. Make sure to overlap the tape slightly each time so you don't leave any paper exposed. This will ensure that it won't get ruined if anything gets spills on it, or it gets rained on.
The inside cover tends to look not so pretty after you're finished, but you can stop here if you want.
Step Five : To make the inside cover more appealing to the eye, and to add a great place to write down your name and the class you're using the notebook for, I coated the backside of the cover in mod podge and placed a blank piece of white paper over top.
Here's the result of the inside cover. It's obviously not going to look perfect, but I do think it serves it's purpose and looks better than the excess tape did before hand.
Here you have your completed notebook. I think it's totally unique and perfect for anyone because it's so customizable. I will definitely be making more of these because I think they're super fun to make and you get a great result. This is my first DIY so if you have any tips please leave them down below!

Thank You

Five Back to School Outfit Ideas!

I know most people have either already started, or are starting school shortly, but these outfits can work all throughout the fall season so I thought I'd share them with you. I tried to hit a few different styles with these outfits and hopefully you can draw inspiration from at least one. Where I live the autumn season can get pretty chilly, in fact it's already getting cold enough to need a sweater, so I did base most of these outfits on that weather. You can obviously change the outfit to fit the weather where you live so don't feel you can't have a chance to wear these if it's still warmer where you live.

This first outfit is great for those days when there's still a bit of warm weather. I paired a basic sweater over my dress for that extra warmth I need and I statement necklace to dress it up. My shoes aren't pictured, but I just paired this outfit with a simple pair of flats.

Dress : H&M
Sweater : H&M (similar)
Necklace : H&M
Shoes : DSW

This outfit is my go to when I wake up late in the morning. The lace on the end of the sweater makes it look a bit nicer than just throwing on a sweatshirt, and the boots add a sophisticated touch.

Sweater : Primark (similar)
Leggings : Lululemon
Boots : Forever 21 (similar)

I love this outfit because it's super girly, but also has a bit of a bohemian vibe. I paired some black tights so that my legs don't freeze and a heeled shoe to make the outfit a little bit more dressy.

Dress : Forever 21
Shoes : Payless (similar)
Necklace : Forever 21 (no longer sold)

This is the perfect outfit for girls who love to keep it casual. This is literately just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Adding a scarf really ties the outfit together and also adds a little warmth.

Shirt : Zara (similar)
Jeans : American Eagle
Scarf : H&M
Shoes : Converse

This last outfit is probably my favorite because scarves, boots, and denim are my vision of fall. I love the scarf, because it adds the perfect pop of color to a neutral outfit. This is also a great example of how to transition crop tops into the fall.

Shirt : H&M (similar)
Skirt : H&M
Scarf : Garage (similar)
Vest : Gap
Boots : Forever 21 (similar)

I hope you found some inspiration from these outfits, whether it be for school or anytime in the upcoming season.

Thank You
-K
